CODEX
When you attack an enemy in melee
Roll +STR

When you spend a few hours seeking food in the wild

- Gain 1d4 rations and choose 1:
Choose 1:
- +1d4 if you have the gear to hunt or trap
- +1 if the land is verdant and full of life
- +1 if you know the land and its creatures well
- 7–9
- Gain 1d4 rations, but the GM will tell you the cost — time, trouble, or attention drawn.
Foraging in barren terrain is usually impossible.

Instinct: to wait for the right moment
- Soar on thermals, thousands of feet up
- Drag prey up 30–40 feet, then drop them
Death From Above — When the frythanc swoops down on unsuspecting prey
10+ It snatches its target and climbs rapidly. Deal d10+2 damage and the target is grabbed.
7–9 It rakes with talons as it passes. Deal d10+2 damage but the target stays grounded.
Sky Drop — When the frythanc releases a grabbed creature from height
10+ The creature falls 40 feet. Deal 2d10 damage, ignores armor.
7–9 It drops from 20 feet. Deal d10 damage.
